Emergency Lighting

We design

We can plan, design and implement an emergency lighting installation that satisfies all the legal requirements and ensures safe evacuation in the event an emergency. Specific requirements for emergency lighting are set out in construction law and design/builds must ensure that people can safely leave the premises when the mains power fails. This evacuation is facilitated by an emergency lighting scheme that must comply with european laws which dictate the level of lighting required in the event of an emergency. This is met together with important obligations such as the visibility of the exit signage and the response time of emergency luminairs.

We install

All emergency lighting work is carried out by qualified and trained electricans that will carry out the work to the highest standard to meet the obligation by law. After the installation is finished, all work will be fully tested and certificated and the emergency lighting system log book completed. We have designed, installed andcompleted emergency lighting systems in buildings from homes and office blocks to large commercial premises.
We test and maintain

Owners or occupiers of commercial premises are required by law to test and maintain the emergency lighting system. It is important that emergency lighting is routinely checked to ensure that escape routes are clearly indicated, fire alarms and fire fighting equipment can be located easily and sufficient illumination is provided along an escape route. It is recommended that a fire alarm system is maintained and regularly tested, to ensure that it will perform to its optimum level in the event of a fire. The British Standard Institute recommends that a system is tested and maintained quarterly.
